Our History ! 167th SIGNAL COMPANY Constituted 11 May 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 167th Signal Photographic Company and activated 3 September 1943 at Camp Crowder, Missouri. Committed to combat in the European Theater of Operations. Served in the Army of Occupation of Germany from 20 May-4 June 1945. Inactivated 16 October 1951 in Japan. Redesignated 9 November 1954 as the 167th Signal Company, and allotted to the Regular Army. Activated 6 January 1955 at Camp Gordon, Georgia. Inactivatred 10 December 1970 in Vietnam. Activated 1 October 1972 in Italy. Inactivated 30 September 1994 in Italy. DISTINCTIVE UNIT INSIGNIA (Unit adopted, Vietnamese War): On a silver disc with a narrow green border surmounted by an orange flash between the designation "167 SIG CO (RRVHF)" and the motto "OUTSTANDING" in orange letters (Painted) ASMIC 167A and has been copied.
